Following the last post, we will continue to learn about Hongik University Foreign Student Admission.
Today, we’ll see the required documents for the Hongik University Foreign Student Admission.

Hongik Univ.Foreign Student Admission Required Documents
First, let's look at the required documents common to Hongik University Foreign Student Admission.
Common required documents include the application form (Form 1), education history and nationality (Form 2), foreign school academic background inquiry agreement (Form 3), personal statement, study plan, high school graduation (expected) certificate, and high school transcript.
The application form, education history, nationality, and foreign school academic background inquiry form need to be submitted online at the time of application, printed and signed, and then submitted.
And it must be written in Korean or English.
The personal statement and study plan should each be about 1 sheet of A4 paper and should be written in Korean or English. (Free form)
In the case of high school graduation (expected) certificate or high school transcript, apostille confirmation or consular confirmation is required.
If the document is not in Korean or English, a Korean or English translation notarized by the notary public in the Republic of Korea or the issuing country must be attached.
The following documents are for Chinese general high school graduates (expected).
- Graduates : Chinese Academic Certificate Report (CHSI) Printed (English)
- Expected graduates: Expected graduation certificate + Consular confirmation
Applicants who submit a certificate of expected high school graduation must additionally submit a 'final high school graduation certificate' and a 'high school transcript (including grades from the 2nd semester of the 3rd year)' during the additional document submission period after passing the final pass.
A copy of the applicant's passport and a copy of the applicant's parents' and ID's must be submitted by copying the front/back side of one page.
The family relation certificate is the family relation certificate (or birth certificate) of the applicant, both the parents in the case of Chinese nationals.
Non-Chinese nationals can submit documents corresponding to the relevant country's family relations certificate (eg, US - birth certificate, Japan - a copy of family register, etc.).
If the document is not in Korean or English, a Korean or English translation notarized by a notary public in the Republic of Korea or the issuing country must be attached.
Holders of TOPIKⅡ or Hongik University International Language Education Center transcript should submit and the validity period must expire after the application start date [7.21.(Thu)].
Holders of s copy of the alien registration card issued by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Korea should submit it and it must be submitted with a copy of the front and back sides on one page.
Documents proving the loss (renunciation) of Korean nationality need to be submitted only by the relevant person.
It is a document stating the loss (renunciation) of the nationality of the applicant and parents, and includes a family relationship certificate (detailed), a certificate of loss (renunciation) of nationality, or a basic certificate.
For adopters: Proof of adoption and documents specifying the date of entry into middle school (graduation certificate or transcript) must be additionally submitted.
Next, we will check the required documents for art departments.
All art major applicants must additionally submit a letter of recommendation and portfolio within the document submission period.
The recommendation letter must be written by the applicant's high school teacher and must be written in Korean or English.
A portfolio is within 5 sheets of A4 flat work (or printed out), and all 5 portfolios must be signed by the applicant himself/herself and the art teacher or advisor.
Next, we will check the required documents for the Faculty of Performing Arts.
For the Musical Major (Acting), submit a total of 2 actual video clips (musical singing, 1 dance video) and
for the Practical Music Major (vocal/composition), 2 unedited actual video clips of less than 3 minutes are submitted.
You just need to submit a video of the actual operation that you can verify yourself on a USB drive!

The next thing to see is the optional documents to be submitted only by the relevant person.
Optional documents include documents from a Korean language training institution, transcripts of high school graduation and college entrance examinations in the country concerned, and other awards received while attending
high school.
If the document is not in Korean or English, a Korean or English translation notarized by a notary public in the Republic of Korea or the issuing country must be attached.
Lastly, let’s have a look at additional documents for successful applicants.
Successful applicants need to submit bank statement of the ‘self’ or ‘financial guarantor’, TOPIK Ⅱ or Hongik University International Language Education Center transcript (applicable only), high school graduation certificate, and high school transcript (applicable only) on additional document submission period [December 16, 2022 (Friday) to December 30, 2022 (Friday)]
Those who submit a expected high school graduation certificate need to submit high school transcripts/graduation certificates and it must have an apostille or consular confirmation.
If the document is not in Korean or English, a Korean or English translation notarized by a notary public in the Republic of Korea or the issuing country must be attached.
