Seoul National Univ. Foreigner Admission Documents Submitted

 

 

 

We’re going to check the documents submitted for the Seoul National University Global Talent Special Admission 1

(Foreigner Admissions).

 

First, let's look at the documents that need to be uploaded to the online application site.

 

Documents uploaded online include application form, personal statement and study plan, recommendation letter,

and recommendation letter from counselor.

 

Personal information (name spelled in English, date of birth, etc.) written on the application form must be the same

as the information on the submitted documents.

 

The applicant's specific personal information (names of parents and relatives, workplace names, etc.) cannot be

written in the personal statement.

 

These documents must be submitted in Korean or English within the application period.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The next thing to check is the documents that need to be scanned and uploaded to the online application site

within the application period.

 

These documents must be submitted by mail or in person after preliminary acceptance.

 

There are proof of language proficiency, a certificate of high school enrollment, transcripts of all high school grades,

and a high school graduation (scheduled) certificate.

 

Proof of language proficiency is one or more of the following documents that can prove proficiency in Korean or

English.

 

- Official language proficiency scores in Korean or English, Standard academic proficiency test results with Korean or

English scores, School introduction materials, or Official documents proving that classes were conducted in Korean

or English.

 

The official language proficiency standard is the completion of level 3 or higher in the Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK) or level 4 or higher in the language education center/language institute in Korea.

 

For English, TOEFL iBT 80 (MyBest Scores can be submitted), iBT Home Edition score acceptable, IELTS Academic

Band Score 6.0, TEPS 269 or higher.

 

Various high school certificates must be submitted by mail or in person after receiving the confirmation of Apostille

or the Korean consulate after the preliminary acceptance is announced.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Next, we will look at more documents that need to be scanned and uploaded to the online application site.

 

There are applicant’s certificate of nationality, certificate of nationality of parent(s), certificate of parent-child

relationship, standardized test score(optional), explanatory statement/documentary evidence(optional).

 

For certificate of nationality, in principle, it must be submitted within the validity period, but if you do not have

a valid passport, you can submit the original certificate of nationality or a notarized copy of your ID.

 

Certificate of parent-child relationship includes the applicant's birth certificate, family relationship certificate,

citizenship certificate, etc.

 

Standardized test score(optional) is the high school graduation test and college entrance examination transcript

of the country where applicants from, such as ACT, A-LEVEL, AP, IGCSE, IB, NCEA, and SAT etc.

 

Upload a scan file of transcripts or a screenshot of the score on the official website to the online application site

and apply for score reporting within the application period.

 

If there are eligibility or other facts to explain, you can submit an explanatory statement / documentary evidence

(optional).

 

 

 

 

 

 

Subsequent documents to be checked are documents need to be scanned and uploaded to the online application

site,  but submission of original documents after preliminary acceptance is unnecessary.

 

All these documents are optional.

 

First of all, there is a school profile. It’s school profile or other official materials (such as the National Education

Policy Agency). 

 

The document is free-form, and it may include necessary information such as the curriculum, advanced courses,

number of students, average grades and percentile, university entrance rate, etc)

 

There is proof of language proficiency other than Korean/English.

 

It includes HSK, JLPT, JPT, DELF, DALF, etc.

 

If the document is not an original document, the principal's seal or signature is required.

 

Supplementary material is any document that may help showcase the applicant’s activities both inside and outside

of school during high school period (extra-curricular activities, awards, etc.)

 

Applicants are allowed to upload up to 10 supplementary materials.

 

Principal’s formal seal or signature is required unless it is the original copy.

 

 

 

 

 

Lastly, let's see the required documents for applying to following departments.

 

Applicants for college of fine art and college of music is required to submit their portfolio and pledge directly to the corresponding department during online application period.

 

And submitted materials will not be returned.
