Interview for the Kyunghee International College

You already know that the application programs for KIC are divided into three divisions: TOEIC, TOEFL, and TEPS. Note that since there are a lot more students who applied through TOEIC and TOEFL, these students will probably be taking the interviews first, TEPS students being the last. You will have to answer two interview questions ? the first one being the same for everyone, and the second part giving you a choice between two to choose from. Normally, you are given about 7 minutes to prepare for both questions right before going into take your interview, so use your time wisely. KIC freshmen are required to take classes on political science, economics, and international relations during the first year, so the questions will normally be built and centered upon themes and topics from those fields. Though the mock interview questions you find on the KIC website will tell you that students will have to answer personal questions, this may not be the case. However, it is important that you are prepared for these as well since it will help you in unexpected situations. Last year there were three professors per interviewee, and all of them asked questions, especially about terms students used in their answers. Therefore, only use and refer to examples that you fully understand, for the professors might ask you to explain yourself, and even the historical background related to it. There will be hundreds of students that the professors are going to have to interview during the same day, so try to be direct with you words. The interviewers will already be in a tired state and won’t have the courtesy to decipher what you might have meant. All in all, the interview will not be too hard, but remember to be diligent and thorough with your answers.
